          Aim: The project’s objective is the expansion and further development of the national e-infrastructure of
        
        
          NISRT by integrating new Information and Communications Technologies and models of dissemination
        
        
          of content which converges with the international reality of present-day academia and research and, more
        
        
          broadly, supports research, education and life-long learning. The central goals are the reinforcement of
        
        
          the quality of research and communication in academic and scientific areas, the support of open access
        
        
          to research results and the highlighting of potential general use and reuse of scientific and cultural digital
        
        
          content. The approach adopted is based on the accumulation of scientific and cultural content, its active
        
        
          distribution and co-development by its users - user generated content - using social networks and open
        
        
          access infrastructures which already exist but which need to be further extended.
        
        
          Results: The new information systems and tools which are being developed, in combination with
        
        
          the collection and dissemination of important new cultural content, provides upgraded electronic services
        
        
          in the following key areas:
