Aim: The aim is to strengthen the European network of National Contact Points in the area
of energy within the 7th Framework Programme. The network targets research and academic
organisations, as well as the business community of the member states of the Network who are
interested in participating in energy programmes of the 7th Framework Programme.
Results: There will be a report mapping organisations which are active in the area of energy,
an electronic system to find partners, networking events and technology transfer.

2nd-Generation Open Access Infrastructure for Research in Europe

EKT”s role: Partner, Open Access Centre in Greece
Aim: The project is carrying out the pilot programme Open Access to research in the EU within
the 7th Framework Programme. All researchers who are funded by the EU will have to publish the
results of their research on an open access infrastructure, so that they are accessible to others
online. EKT is the Greek Open Access Centre for research results within the 7th Framework
Programme.
With this role EKT assists Greek scientists to deposit scientific publications of funded projects
in open access repositories.
Results: There will be a guide for the implementation of the pilot initiative Open Access [for
researchers, repository administrators and policy-makers]. There will also be a network to
support the national brokerage agency for the deposit of publications [outcomes of the 7th
Framework Programme] ,and the OPENAIRE portal using the Greek language [
].
