3.5. Greek women participants
in the HEALTH Programme
Out of the 139 Greek participations in FP7-Health projects, 44 are led by female researchers
corresponding to a participation rate of 31,7%.
In terms of diversity, 36 women participated from 25 different organisations. Among these
organisations 8 are research organisations (REC), 7 Higher & secondary education organisations
(HES), 4 companies (private for profit organisations - PRC), 4 public bodies excluding education
(PUB) and 2 from other types not mentioned above (OTH).
The Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens is the Greek organisation with more
female Principal investigators (scientific leader) involved in FP7-HEALTH projects (4).
Antonia Trichopoulou from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, is the only Greek female
coordinator of a FP7-HEALTH funded project, entitled “TRANSBIOBC: Translation of novel
Biomarkers for Bladder Cancer for clinical outcome prediction”.
