6. The Greek Evaluators as Proof of
Excellence
The proposals submitted to the EC are evaluated by distinguished experts that the European
Commission selects according to scientific and business criteria as well as candidates’ active
involvement in the field of health.
The active participation of Greek scientists in the evaluation committees reflects the excellence of the
country in the health field.
In the evaluation of FP7-HEALTH proposals 34 Greek evaluators from Greek institutions (Table 21)
and 8 Greek evaluators from foreign institutions (Table 22) took part.
The majority of the Greek evaluators in the health field are from Academia (6 from the National &
Kapodistrian University of Athens, 4 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 2 from the University
of Ioannina, 2 from the University of Crete, 2 from the University of Thrace and 1 from the University
of Patras).
