2.2. Competition in HEALTH
2.2.1. FP7-HEALTH calls
Chart 7 shows the success rate under FP7-HEALTH each year (from 2007 to 2013) overall and for
Greek participants. Following e-Corda data, this chart reflects the 2
nd
stage success rates where
the call involved two stages. The success rate of the Greek participants in the period 2011-2013 is
above the European average. It is worth noting that, in two-stage calls, first-stage proposals are
short proposals for which only administrative forms are submitted by the coordinator and
unfortunately there are no electronic records of non-coordinator organisations who participate in
that stage. Therefore first-stage success rates cannot be calculated for those organisations.
The coordinator success rate for Greece is 8% which is half of the average coordinator success
rate considering all countries (17%) and occupies 18
th
position out of the 36 countries with
coordinators in FP7-HEALTH calls. Iceland displays the highest coordinator success rate with 33%
followed by Ireland (26%), The Netherlands & France (24%), and Austria (22%).
The overall success rate for Greece is 20% whereas the overall success rate for all countries is
27%. Greece occupies 26
th
position out of 37 MS & AC countries in FP7-HEALTH funded projects.
Albania displays the highest overall success rate with 41%, followed by Iceland (37%) & Sweden
(32%).
