2.1. The Participation from Greece & Europe
2.1.1. FP7-HEALTH Calls
The number of proposals submitted to FP7-HEALTH calls for the period 2007-2013 by all countries
(chart 1) was 7.107. Out of them, 6.892 proposals (97%) were considered eligible and therefore
evaluated. 1008 were funded (chart 2) leading to a coordinator success rate of 14,2%. When
taking into consideration only 2
nd
-stage proposals in two-stage calls, 3.920 proposals with 38.389
participations were evaluated for funding.
The number of proposals with Greek participation (chart 1) during the same period (2007-2013)
was 576 (560 eligible) from which 113 were funded (chart 2). When taking into consideration only
proposals submitted for the 2
nd
stage in two-stage calls, 492 proposals with Greek participation
where evaluated and 113 were funded. Among the 113 projects with 139 Greek participants, 11
were coordinated by Greek institutions.
Considering the number of applicants in FP7-HEALTH proposals weighted by country population
(x100.000) Greece has a ratio of 5,9 which is below the average (7,6) and occupies 20
th
position
out of the 38 Members States (MS) & Associated Countries (AC) participating in FP7-HEALTH
calls. The ranking is led by Iceland (26,1) followed by Switzerland (19,4), Sweden (16), The
Netherlands (15,8) and Denmark (15,7).
Greece is located in 15t
h
position (among EU MS & AC) when taking into consideration the number
of participating organisations in FP7-HEALTH & IMI projects (148 participations). Top of the list is
Germany & UK (~1900 participations) followed by France (1180 participations).
