EKT, the National Contact Point
for the “Horizon2020” programme
Horizon 2020, the new EU programme for Research and Innovation funding for the period 2014-2020
with a budget of 80 million Euros, aims to foster the global competitiveness of Europe. A priority
is to use scientific accomplishments in innovative products and services which offer business
opportunities and improve the quality of life of European citizens.
Having been the national contact point for competitive European research programmes for over
15 years, we will continue to provide services to the Greek academic, research and business sectors
through Horizon 2020 as well.
The programme «Information Technology and Communication»
was presented during the one-day event we organised in Athens in November. The purpose of
the programme is the development of the European capacity to form and control the future evolution
of Information Technology and Communication according to the needs and requirements of
the European community and economy.
The new calls of the European Research Council [ERC]
in the new programme Horizon 2020
for research and innovation in the EU were presented in the one-day event which was held in Athens
on 9th December by EKT, as the national contact point for Horizon 2020. The event was organised in
collaboration with the general Secretariat for Research and Technology with the support of the ERC
The working programme and the new calls for the Social Challenge
«Health, Demographic Change andWell-being» of Horizon 2020
for research and innovation in the EU were presented in Athens at the one-day event held on 20th
December by EKT and the Pasteur Institute –national contact point for the programme as well.
