13 ANNUAL REPORT EKT
EKT ePublishing provides
a series of services for
electronic publishing covering
all stages of publication, from
digitisation to publicity, for
example, hosting content on
EKT’s servers, services for
digitisation and designing
digital issues, software - Open
Journal Systems [OJS] for the
management of the publishing
procedure for scientific journals,
services for the organisation
and documentation of content,
advisory services, technical
support, software services to
ensure compatability with the
latest reader devices, services
for indexing in international
databases [ eg Scopus, DOAJ, ISI]
and services for promotion and
viewing.
EKT uses its expertise to follow
the latest developments in
academic communication and
offers publishers and readers
alternative forms of publishing
scientific work using Open
Access as a business model.
ePublishing is not just another
activity of EKT but also an
integrated digital environment
offering a single point of access
to electronic publications which
EKT develops [epublishing.ekt.
gr] Each journal hosted on this
platform, automatically has
its own site. The platform was
inaugurated in January 2013,
though providing ejournals began
in 2007, while the addition of
books in an electronic form only
is imminent.
ePublishing services were
developed within the Project
“National Information System
for Research and Technology /
Social Networks-User Generated
Content’ - NISRT. NISRT is
co-financed by Greece and the
European Union – European
Regional Development Fund

Convergence’, NSFR]
