These goals are supported
by the necessary tools and infrastructures that we
develop and maintain in order to provide value-added services. The consistent support of
open knowledge policies and the provision of the means to strengthen academic research,
education and the production of quality cultural content establishes an organisation as one
to be trusted; able to effectively contribute to innovation and make knowledge-intensive
industries the basic means of development for the country.

Transfer and reuse of knowledge
for innovation and sustainable development
In the area of the transfer and reuse of knowledge for sustainable growth across all sectors of
the economy, as well as the support of entrepreneurship which creates value-added, we seek to
interconnect academics, researchers and cultural organisations with the innovative and creative
industries.
We provide services to update and link academic, research and business communities, with the aim
of providing access to financing tools, information about the business sector and markets, relevant
reports, tools to enable productivity and legal tools to support the management of intangible resources.
In addition to reinforcing technology transfer, we foster the adoption of up-to-date production models
of innovation and international networking.
Having great expertise in the specific fields, we, at EKT, place particular emphasis on cultural and
creative industries, health, the environment, energy and ICT.
These activities benefit the academic and research communities in two distinct ways: they promote
the reuse of research results in business, while, simultaneously, help to achieve the goals of R&D
activities in response to the needs of the markets, thus substantially contributing to synergies between
research and production.
Special emphasis is given to providing relevant updates, training and support regarding intellectual
property; the basic means of reusing knowledge in different forms and with different licenses.
Typical of our activities, here at EKT, are the long-term position we have held as the co-ordinator and
the Greek hub for the European network for technology transfer - Enterprise Europe Network - as
well as being the National Contact Point both during the 7th Framework Programme and Horizon
2020.
