3.3. Profile of the Greek Participants
3.3.1. FP7-HEALTH calls
From the 742 Greek participants in the proposals submitted to FP7-HEALTH over the period 2007-
2013, the Universities presented the highest participation (346) followed by the Research Centres
(200), Private Companies (117), Others (54) and Public Institutions (25).
From the 139 funded participations through FP7-HEALTH in the period 2007-2013, 66 were
Universities, 53 Research Centres, 12 Private Companies, 6 Public Institutions and 2 Others.
51% ( 23,4 Mio Euros) of the EC contribution in FP7-HEALTH received by Greece went to Research
Centres followed by Universities (39%; 18,1 Mio Euros), the Private Sector (8%; 3,5 Mio Euros), other
Public Institutions (2%; 0,9 Mio Euros) and Others (1%; 0,2 Mio Euros). When considering all countries
participating in FP7-HEALTH projects, universities received 51% of EC funds, research organisations
received 24%, SMEs 18%, Industry 3%, other public organisations 3% & other types of organisation
1%. Greek participation in proposals & projects as well as funding details per type of organisation are
depicted in Tables 9 & 10 and Charts 14 & 15
